Your first visit to our office is a time for us to get to know you and determine what your main concerns are. We will ease any fears or anxiety by explaining in detail each step of your treatment. Each member of our team is friendly and accessible and we encourage our patients and parents to ask questions. We believe that patients feel more comfortable if they know what to expect and are well informed of a procedure before it occurs.

On your first visit to our office, please bring your completed health history form and any applicable orthodontic insurance information. For your convenience, you canclick here to fill out the health history form online. There is no charge for this initial examination.

Upon arriving for your appointment, you will be greeted by our receptionist who will collect your initial paperwork. A complimentary digital x-ray of your teeth will be taken in our examination room. You will be introduced to Dr. Maruri who will then perform an examination of your teeth and bite. He will discuss with you in great detail whether orthodontic treatment is indicated, and if so, the duration, benefits and costs of your care. To help you better understand your orthodontic treatment, Dr. Maruri will use a state of the art interactive patient consultation system which will allow him to educate you about your diagnosis and treatment recommendations. He will discuss with you treatment options and demonstrate any appliances or procedures you will need.

If you are ready to begin treatment, diagnostic records can be taken at this initial visit or if preferred a separate appointment can be scheduled. These records include additional x-rays, photographs and impressions or molds of the teeth, if indicated. Diagnostic records are included in our treatment fees so no payment is required when your diagnostic records are taken!

If a patient is still developing and is not yet ready for treatment, Dr. Maruri will recommend the patient be placed into an observation phase where he will follow growth and development to determine the appropriate time for treatment.

Dr. Maruri and his team will be glad to answer any questions you may have and review financial options and any applicable insurance coverage in detail prior to beginning treatment. We will provide all the information you need to determine which treatment is right for you.
